'The Earth is a fine place and worth fighting for'
Ernest Hemingway

In Greek mythology, GAIA is the personification of the Earth and one of the Greek primordial deities.
GAIA is the ancestral mother of all life: the primal Mother Earth goddess. She is the immediate parent of Uranus (the sky), from whom she bore the Titans (themselves parents of many of the Olympian gods) and the Giants, and of Pontus (the sea), from whom she bore the primordial sea gods. Her equivalent in the Roman pantheon was Terra.

In keeping with our namesake and in accordance with the beliefs and mindfulness of our principals, GAIA Capital Management contributes a proportion of all fee income earned to the following 'Earth' based charities.
We encourage our clients, friends and supporters worldwide to consider these worthy causes in order to help sustain our environment for future generations.

WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Our Mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together. Globally we’re using the planet’s precious resources faster than nature can restore itself. We’re destroying forests, choking the oceans with plastic, decimating wildlife populations, and causing devastating changes to the climate. So at WWF, we’re fighting to restore thriving habitats and species. To do that, we’re tackling the root causes behind nature’s decline – notably the food system and climate change. And we’re inspiring a global movement of people who’ll help make sure restoring nature is put at the heart of all the decisions we make in our everyday lives – so it becomes politically, socially and economically unacceptable to degrade our planet’s precious natural resources.

Greenpeace is a diverse, multi-cultural movement of ordinary individuals determined to bring about the extraordinary change necessary to realize a greener, more peaceful future. Greenpeace organizers, researchers, volunteers and members work in solidarity to protect the environment and promote ambitious solutions to the critical issues we face as a global community. The Greenpeace journey started more than 40 years ago in the early hours of a September morning. The plan for that first Greenpeace crew was to sail a rickety fishing boat to the Arctic Ocean to stop a US government nuclear test. It was to be, in the words of Greenpeace co-founder Irving Stowe, “A trip for life, and for peace.” Today, Greenpeace is more than three and one-half million strong, with supporters, partners and allies in more than 55 countries.
